Royal Rumors From Aldonia

Dearest Readers,

Have you heard the news? Word from Aldonia is that our illustrious Crown Prince is finally in the market for a princess.

With the prince’s two younger siblings married off, it was only a matter of time that Prince Christopher found a bride.

My sources in the palace, however, tell me that the search may have hit a bit of a snag.

Not because of anything our dear prince has done, of course. Nay, it seems that the arrival of a certain English miss has caught a few eyes.

Royal Rumors

Though the lady’s connections are undeniably good, we’re not all that convinced that she is fit to be a queen.

Have no fear, dear readers. As you well know, Prince Christopher has never acted in a way that is anything less than perfect. And he has only ever put crown and country before all else.

But we must wonder; why do our sources tell us that he’s been acting somewhat out of character around the gel?

And word has it that the mysterious Lady L’s cousin was very much in line to take the crown. Will there be familial discord? And will our dear prince shock us all with an unexpected announcement soon?

We doubt that he’d do anything to shock us. But then, considering his brother ran off to England, and his sister married the help, one can never tell.

We shall keep our eyes and ears very much open, and report back when we have even a sniff of scandal about our fearless leader.

About the Book

Heavy is the heart that wears the crown…

Prince Christopher Wesselbach learned from a young age that crown and country come before everything else.

Now, as Crown Prince and future king, he knows that duty to the throne requires him to marry.

But he also knows from bitter experience that women are fickle and not to be trusted. So, he’ll choose a wife based on what Aldonia needs in a queen and nothing else. He won’t allow a woman to change the life he chooses to live, and he won’t be foolish enough to let his heart get involved in the decision.

Lady Lucia Allenwood does not fit in with royalty. If stealing from the queen wasn’t proof enough of that, then engaging in illicit meetings with a handsome stranger certainly was.

But her cousin seems to have caught the interest of the elusive Prince Christopher and so Lucy must do her best to stay out of trouble, and not disgrace the family name.

Despite their best intentions, Lucy and Christopher can’t seem to stay out of each other’s ways, and when they clash, sparks inevitably fly.

But can Christopher learn to trust? Not just a lady, but his own heart?

And will Lucy be able to redeem this royal?

The Monster of Montvale Hall and the mysterious American miss

The village of Montvale is atwitter with news of its most notorious resident. The Duke of Montvale, dubbed the Monster for his dark and frightening ways seems to be playing host to a house guest. A young lady!

Though his dashing friend The Marquess of Avondale is no stranger to Montvale, it has been quite unheard of for anyone else to brave the wrath of the Monster and visit the Hall. Yet it seems one such person exists.

One Miss Abigail Langton recently arrived from The Americas has not only visited, but is staying at Montvale Hall.

And if our sources are to be believed, she has turned the place on its ear. The duke too!

Though the servants of the house remain as tight-lipped as they did all those years ago when tragedy struck the Montvale family, Miss Langton has been making her presence known in the village and apparently in the house.

We do wonder if poor Miss Langton knows what she’s let herself in for.

Though perhaps we should be wondering if the duke knows what he’s let himself in for.

We have no doubt that something monumental will come from this unprecedented event.

As for what that could be? Well, we shall just have to wait and see.

The Monster of Montvale Hall Blurb

A childhood tragedy had shaped the life of Robert Forsythe, the Duke of Montvale Hall, forever.

He kept himself isolated from the world and the people in it, revelling in his reputation as a monster.

Locked in a world of guilt and grief, nobody had ever been able to break down the walls he kept around him. Nobody had ever tried.

And if being a monster kept everyone away, then a monster he would be.

Abigail Langton was as headstrong as she was mischievous, so it was no surprise that she wasn’t exactly welcomed at Montvale Hall with open arms.

It didn’t take her long to understand why its owner was called a monster.

It took even less time to realise that monster or not, Abigail’s heart called to him in a way she couldn’t deny or understand.

Robert’s world is turned upside down and inside out by the irrepressible Abigail. And try as he might to avoid it, he finds himself drawn to her in ways he doesn’t want. In ways that scare the wits out of him.

Will Robert give in to the temptation that is Abigail? And will Abigail find the heart of the man beneath the monster?

LADY FARROW DETERMINED TO SEE HER DAUGHTER WED!

Dear Readers,

The Tattler has learned that Lady Farrow, the esteemed wife of the Duke of Farrow and mother of dear Isabelle Carlton, the Incomparable herself, is hatching quite the plan!

It is said that Lady Farrow has engaged the help of her friend Lady Balton, to host a house party, in the midst of the Season no less, in order to secure a noble husband for Lady Isabelle.

As all of our readers know, Isabelle Carlton needs no help in attracting suitors. But poor Lady Farrow is said to be at her wits’ end, for her daughter remains stubbornly single!

Lady Balton is indeed a good friend to offer help in this scheme. Though one has to wonder what her brooding, studious, and dare we say; rather bookish son, Mathew, the Duke of Balton will think of playing host to Lady Isabelle’s many beaux?

We cannot help but feel that these two Society matriarchs have their work cut out for them. For Lady Isabelle has never shown the slightest interest in marrying one of her many admirers, and her childhood friend the Duke of Balton has never shown the slightest interest in anything outside of his books!

We at the Tattler are most intrigued and simply cannot wait to see if Lady Farrow will return for

end of the Season, triumphant in getting her beautiful, wilful daughter engaged.

That is, of course, if the Duke of Balton manages not to throw everyone out before then!

We will be sure to bring you news of this scheme from our many reliable sources, as soon as we have it.

The Beauty and the Duke

Isabelle Carlton has loved the boy next door for as long as she can remember.
Now they’re both grown up, their lives could not be more different; Mathew is a studious, serious duke, and Isabelle a social butterfly and the darling of the ton.

But Isabelle still wants Mathew, and she has no intention of letting him go. So all she has to do is make him fall desperately in love with her. And who better to help than the man himself?

Mathew Rourke hates everything about the shallow world of the ton, and the people who play its foolish game. And none of them play it more than Isabelle Carlton.

When Isabelle enlists Mathew’s help to catch herself a husband, he reluctantly agrees. After all, when has he ever been able to tell her no?

But helping Isabelle is getting increasingly more difficult. For one thing, he can’t help but wonder why she needs any help. And for another, he can’t seem to want to let her go.

Do opposites really attract? And can this beauty catch the duke next door?
